The Territorial Youth Department has two different grants available in 2020.

 

The Youth Strategy Grant is available for corps/centres to apply for up to $500 to encourage and support initiatives that will either:

Through their youth ministry, promote partnering with other expressions of The Salvation Army (e.g. corps, centres, E&E) doing mission together. The idea is to have two or more expressions doing an event together (BBQ, graduation celebration, etc.) and/or;

Create evangelistic opportunities aimed at young people – offer a place to belong (i.e. outreach event).

Note: this is not an ongoing commitment but a one off grant.

The Experienced Youth Worker Scholarship is a grant of up to $1000 for experienced youth workers in The Salvation Army for the purpose of developing their skills and practice.

This is about investing into, retaining and developing some of our key youth workers who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to The Salvation Army's work with young people.

The following are the requirements that must be met in order to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Applicant has been actively involved in youth work in a corps/centre for at least three years.
  • Applicant agrees to enrol or has enrolled in a recognised programme/study with a youth focus or component.
  • Relevant documentation will have to be submitted (i.e. tax invoice, enrolment letter).

Note: this is not an ongoing commitment but a one off grant.
